Ongole, Jan 27 (UNI) Launching a scathing attack against Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Y S Sharmila has alleged that despite the government having borrowed Rs 8 lakh crore, it has not allocated funds for the maintenance of irrigation projects.
YS Sharmila is the younger sister of Jagan Mohan Reddy and she revolted against him and joined the Congress.
Addressing party workers here on Saturday, she announced that she is ready to face the battle and asked the YSRCP leaders whether they were ready for the same.
The APCC President gave a new abbreviation to 'YSRCP' stating ‘Y’ stands for YV Subba Reddy, ‘S’ stands for Saireddy and ‘R’ stands for Ramakrishna Reddy Sajjala, who are the senior leaders and playing a vital role in the ruling YSR Congress party.
“This YSRCP does not belong to her father and former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, but it belongs to Jagan Mohan Reddy only since he failed to fulfill even one aspiration of Rajasekhara Reddy, she lambasted.
Moreover, late Rajasekhara Reddy used to oppose the BJP vehemently but her brother Reddy now has become slave to the BJP, Sharmila lashed out.
YS Rajasekhar Reddy was the father of Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The APCC president took strong exception for the selling out of Rs 70,000 crore worth Gangavaram port in Visakhapatnam for a cheaper price. “Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy announced that the Gangavaram port was sold at Rs 600 crore and the money was used to develop other ports in the state,” she said; and questioned the government what it has done with the Rs 8 lakh crore borrowed money.
She lamented that the Gangavaram post has gone away from the government permanently due to the unwise decision.
The YSRCP, TDP and the JSP have affiliated themselves to the BJP. Vote for the three parties means vote for the BJP, Sharmila said, adding that even though the BJP has no MP in AP state, it is ruling the state indirectly.
She exhorted the Congress activists to work hard to win the elections.
Former Union Ministers J S Seelam, Pallam Raju, Ex-APCC presidents N Raghuveera Reddy and Gidugu Rudraraju were among those who were present.
